- As a rule of thumb we don't mind a few naughty words or the occasional harsh tone; but at the same time full on F-Bombs and blatant profanity is not welcome. Feel free however to self-censor. For **** sake, a few asterisks never killed anyone. No partial or letter replacement, supplanting the ENTIRE word with asterisks is the only accepted format on these forums!
- You will not make any personal attacks going beyond criticism of skill as a web developer. Attack the work, the ideas, or even a group; NEVER the individual.
- Outright obscene or pornographic content is not allowed on this site. You want that stuff, go elsewhere.
- Your IP address and any posts you make are recorded AND maintained. Under normal circumstances posts are not deleted, and instead are moved to an invisible "evidence locker" for staff review and historical reference.
- If you see any content that violates any of the above, please do NOT respond to said user, and instead notify a moderator or administrator. A button is provided on every post for this purpose.
- Our staff reserves the right to modify or remove any objectionable content.
WARNINGS AND BANSWhen the above rules or other issues arise, it is to be typically handled in the following fashion unless the offense is particularly heinous.
You will be issued a warning for each infraction.
Persisitent behavior past that point can and likely will result in a permanent ban from this site.
- First 2 warnings, then a 1 week ban.
- Two more warnings, then a 2 week ban.
- One more warning, one month ban
- Final warning, one year ban
Warnings will expire after a year.
PERMANENT BANNINGSome actions may prompt your immediate and irrevokable explusion from our community. These include but are not necessarily limited to:
- Pornography or other obscene content
- Blatant disrespect and disregard for our rules
- SPAM or other unsolicited advertising
- Illegal activity, commercial promotion, or any other actions of dubious moralality.
Finally, we're all just people. We all make mistakes, and that is why we'd like to avoid having to ban anyone despite knowing it is inevitable. Even so, if you feel we've made an error, ask for clarification or review. Likewise we'll try to give you the benefit of a doubt.
