It's a shame the media hype about it is such bullshit, given the tech itself is semi-legitimate. Again, long term cold storage. It has a number of... flaws you won't find in most articles.
1) reading it is a destructive process. It's "volatile storage".
2) reading it is slow. VERY slow, and unlikely to ever be fast. Whilst yes, it has the storage density to store every movie ever made, it's not even fast enough for realtime playback of 72 line mechanical video at 160v.
Which for most practical uses puts it up there with 20th Century Motors "Dale", hyperloops, Theranos, and "solid hydrogen" on the predatory scam-artist scale.
