Someone in Virginia I must have "offended" somehow (there's a shocker) with a Mac -- see the UA string above -- decided to spam me with the message "40 years of programming and you can't even secure your form" via my contact form.
Thing is it is secure, the first three of their messages were stored, the next 3000 were ignored but logged by count, and their IP address eventually triggered a IP level ban on the form, and possibly site-wide. In my own dotage, I seem to have forgotten which I set up... both?
I think the limit for IP level ban is 0x1000 I should probably drop that to 0x0100.
Laugh is their little Intel Mac slogging away trying to DDOS or otherwise harm things couldn't keep up with the slice of four Ryzen cores we recently were moved to.
It's actually part of the strategy is to let these bots THINK they're working as part of the honeypot. Make them waste their time, not mine.
