Video Creation and Editing Software - verdicts?

As the subject really, what is the best Video Editing and creation software out there? It’s mainly for PR for my automotive business so something that could do credits and an intro really I guess? I don’t want anything too flashy CGI capabilities… is it a Adobe or PowerDirector?
