Poor copy paste action with mouse - bad mouse?

Hi,

I use a Razer Mamba 2012 as my mouse.   In the last month or so it has started acting really stupid when it comes to copy and pasting text.  Sometimes it only gets half of it, sometimes it moves text here or there in the string, sometimes i have to press the left button really hard to get it to highlight the text.  All the other buttons work fine.

I dont think i have ever cleaned the inside of the mouse, only the outside.

Is this a cleaning issue or is my mouse going south ?
